How to Stop Ruminating

Ruminating is mentally replaying distressing thoughts or events over and over.

Break the loop

  • Notice when you’re in it
  • Label it: “I’m ruminating”
  • Shift focus → do something physical or sensory
  • Write it down, then walk away
