The Snapshot

What it is

The Snapshot is your internal image of how your life should look. It’s an imagined picture of the perfect job, body, partner, family, home, and achievements. This fantasy becomes an unrealistic benchmark that prevents you from accepting reality.

Why it matters

You constantly compare your actual life to this fantasy, which leads to chronic dissatisfaction. Even if you achieve parts of your snapshot, it often doesn’t feel like enough because the image keeps shifting. This results in low self-worth and a sense of failure.

What to do

  • Acknowledge the Snapshot you’re chasing.
  • Question whether it helps or harms.
  • Accept where you are and start building forward from there.

“The Snapshot is a dead image. Real life is dynamic and alive.”
