1. Who We Are

Homie is provided by Loop Ventures AS, a Norwegian company.

Contact: support@homiehub.co

Loop Ventures AS is the data controller. Our supervisory authority is Datatilsynet (Norway).

2. Data We Collect

Before signup

We collect no personal information.

Our website uses Plausible Analytics in cookieless mode.

After signup

A Homie group is created by a subscription owner and contains one or more sub-users (family members). We collect:

About the subscription owner

  • Email address (used for access links, billing, and support)
  • Subscription identifiers from Stripe, Apple, or Google (depending on platform)

About each sub-user (family member)

  • Name or nickname (required)
  • Email address (optional — only if the owner enters one for notifications)
  • Birthday: month and day (optional), year (optional) — used for birthday reminders
  • Email preferences for notifications and tips

Content you create

  • Events, tasks, routines, recipes, meal plans, notes, comments, reactions
  • External calendar feeds you subscribe to (ICS URLs)
  • Calendar events you import or link from your phone's calendars (when you grant calendar access — see below)

Technical data

  • Device tokens for push notifications (platform, browser, last seen)
  • Pseudonymous usage events (actions like "task completed") tied to your group for product analytics and billing

Authentication

Homie uses shared family codes, not traditional passwords. Access links to manage your subscription are sent by email.

Optional device permissions

On iPhone and Android, you can choose to grant Homie access to your phone's calendars. It's entirely optional, and we use it for two things:

  • Importing events — copy events from a phone calendar (Apple, Google, work, etc.) into your Homie group as a one-time copy.
  • Subscribing to a calendar — keep a read-only overlay of a phone calendar visible inside Homie, refreshed in the background.

We only read the calendars you explicitly pick. We never write to them, and we never look at calendars you didn't select. iOS doesn't offer a separate read-only calendar permission, so the system prompts for full access — Homie still only reads.

You can revoke calendar access any time from your phone's settings. Stopping a subscription removes the overlay; events you previously imported stay in your group as regular Homie events until you delete them.

Payment

Stripe, Apple, and Google process payments on our behalf, depending on how you subscribe. RevenueCat brokers Apple and Google subscription receipts.

We do not store credit card numbers.

3. Shared Group Access

A Homie group is a shared workspace. All members have identical permissions — any member may edit or delete content, or add and remove sub-users. Homie does not verify the identity of sub-users and does not provide admin roles or parental controls.

When you add someone to your group, they get full access to everything in it — past, present, and future. That includes all calendar events, tasks, routines, recipes, meal plans, notes, comments, and any sub-users with their birthdays. There is no view-only role.

If a member leaves or is removed, they lose access through the app. We can't take back content they exported, screenshotted, or copied while they had access.

You can also share selected content outside your group:

  • Calendar ICS feeds for subscribing in external calendar apps
  • Shared recipe, event, or list links accessible to anyone with the URL

When you contact us for support, a member of the Homie team may be granted temporary access to your group at your request. This access is removed when the support case is closed.

4. How We Use Data

We use data to:

  • Operate and improve the app
  • Sync data between devices
  • Determine when billing starts based on item count
  • Send onboarding tips and agenda emails (you can unsubscribe from any non-essential email at any time)
  • Provide support
  • Maintain security

We do not sell personal data.

We do not use ad tracking.

We do not analyze your content with AI.

We do not use your data to train any model.

We do not use cookies except required technical cookies. See our Cookie Policy for details.

5. We Don't Use AI on Your Data

No artificial intelligence, large language model, or automated profiling touches your family's content. We don't analyze your tasks, events, routines, recipes, or notes to generate suggestions, recommendations, or ads. We don't use any of it to train a model — ours or anyone else's.

We do use AI internally to help our small team write code faster. That's it. It never touches your household.

This commitment applies to every member of your group, child or adult.

6. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)

We rely on a different legal basis depending on what we are doing:

  • Contract — providing the app, syncing your content, managing your group and sub-users
  • Legal obligation — billing records and accounting (Norwegian bookkeeping law)
  • Legitimate interest — security, abuse prevention, product analytics (pseudonymous, cookieless)
  • Soft opt-in / Legitimate interest — tips and onboarding emails to existing customers, always with an easy unsubscribe link
  • Consent — optional newsletter if we ever offer one

7. Children's Data

Homie is a family app, and sub-users may be minors. Norway's age of digital consent is 13, but we do not rely on children's own consent: minors' data is processed under the Contract between us and the subscription owner, who is responsible for managing their household's data.

We minimize what we collect about children:

  • Birthdays are optional — and the year is optional within that
  • No profiling, advertising, or AI/ML inference on any user, child or adult
  • No separate child login or kid-facing signup

The subscription owner warrants that they have the authority to add each sub-user to the group, including any minors in their household.

8. Item Counting for Billing

We count the number of items (events, tasks, routines, meals, etc.) created by your group to help determine when your free trial ends. The free trial lasts for at least 30 days, then continues until 50 items have been created.

This count includes all items ever created, including deleted items.

Stripe receives only total invoice amounts, not detailed usage data.

9. Sharing with Service Providers

We share the minimum data needed with the following processors:

  • Supabase — database and storage
  • PowerSync — local-first sync engine that keeps your devices up to date
  • Vercel — web hosting
  • Resend — transactional and tips emails
  • Stripe — web payments
  • Apple and Google — in-app subscriptions on iOS and Android
  • RevenueCat — brokers Apple and Google subscription receipts
  • Plausible Analytics — cookieless website analytics

Each acts under a data processing agreement.

10. International Transfers

Personal data is processed in the EEA where possible. For processors based outside the EEA, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses and equivalent safeguards.

11. Retention

  • Account data: until you delete your group
  • Deleted items (tasks, events, routines, sub-users): retained for 30 days after deletion, then permanently removed. During this period, our support team can assist with recovery if needed.
  • Billing records: kept for the period required by Norwegian bookkeeping law
  • Pseudonymous usage events: retained for product analytics; reviewed periodically and aggregated or removed
  • Backups: used for operational continuity, per our hosting provider's retention window

12. Your Rights

You may request:

  • Access to your personal data
  • Correction of inaccurate data
  • Deletion (erasure)
  • Portability (a copy in a machine-readable format)
  • Restriction of processing
  • Objection to processing

To exercise any of these rights, email support@homiehub.co. We respond within 30 days.

Sub-users exercise their rights through the subscription owner, who is responsible for managing the group's data. If you are a sub-user and cannot reach the owner, contact us directly and we will help.

You can also file a complaint with Datatilsynet.

13. Policy Changes

We may update this policy. We will notify users of significant changes by email or in-app notification.
