Radical Acceptance

What it is

Radical Acceptance is the foundational mindset of facing reality without resistance. Stutz calls it the “3 Aspects of Reality”:

  • Pain
  • Uncertainty
  • Constant Work

Why it matters

Most suffering comes from resisting these realities. We wish life were easy, certain, and fair — but it’s not. Fighting that truth leads to bitterness, avoidance, and stagnation.

Accepting these constants frees you to live fully despite them.

Practice it

  • When pain comes: “This is part of being alive.”
  • When the future feels unclear: “I accept the mystery.”
  • When it’s hard: “Keep working. No finish line needed.”

“These aren’t obstacles — they are the path.”
